Jacqueline LeBaron, daughter of cult leader Ervil LeBaron, sentenced for murders

The FBI has arrested Jacqueline LeBaron, the fugitive daughter of polygamist Ervil LeBaron, bringing what ex-members of the fundamentalist church hope is an end to several decades of bloodshed.
LeBaron is wanted by the FBI for a series of murders in the 1980s, carried out based on the “Book of the New Covenant.” It was scriptures that her father wrote while in the Utah State Prison, where he was serving time for murder.
The FBI is pursuing fresh leads in the search for the last wanted member of Ervil LeBaron’s murderous polygamous family — believing that some of her old ties in Utah may still be helping her.
Schmidt says she wants people to understand what drives people to live a life of polygamy, and what it was like being a part of the LeBaron cult.
Jacqueline Tarsa LeBaron, the daughter of the late polygamist leader Ervil LeBaron, is now one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives in Houston. The FBI says LeBaron was involved in a series of crimes that occurred in the Texas area. On June 27, 1988, four people were murdered simultaneously in Houston and Irving, Texas by members of the LeBaron family, the FBI alleges. Ervil LeBaron started his own polygamous sect in 1972. The sect was called the Church of the Lamb of God (CLG). In 1972, Ervil LeBaron was convicted and imprisoned for ordering his followers to murder his brother
Fundamentalist LDS Church leader Warren Jeffs isn’t the only fugitive member of a polygamist group to make the FBI’s Most Wanted list. The FBI in Houston has now added Jacqueline Tarsa LeBaron to its Most Wanted list — not the agency’s Ten Most Wanted list, of which Jeffs is a member, however — in hopes of finally tracking down the fugitive polygamous sect member. “It’s probably been several years, but we’ve started looking into her again,” FBI Special Agent Todd Burns said Friday. LeBaron’s name was added to the list after federal authorities in Texas received new information about her
