A Durham County, North Carolina grand jury has indicted seven people in connection with the deaths of a 5-year-old boy and young woman.
Among those indicted is alleged cult leader 27-year-old Peter Moses Jr.
Durham, North Carolina police charged cult leader Peter Moses Jr. Thursday night with first-degree murder in the death of 5-year-old Jadon Higganbothan.
Higganbothan was reported missing in February, along with Antoinetta McKoy. Police say they believe they found McKoy’s remains buried behind the same home Wednesday after plumbers called 911.
Late Wednesday morning investigators in Durham, NC, discovered the body of Antoinetta Yvonne McKoy, who was reported missing in February.
Police have charged seven people, including suspected cult leader Peter Moses, in that case.
Now comes news that the body of 5-year-old Jadon Higganbothan, who was last seen in October, has also been located.
Suspected cult leader Peter Moses, who police believe is linked to the disappearance of a woman and a 5-year-old boy, appeared in court Tuesday on unrelated charges.
Moses, 27, faces numerous charges including one count of second-degree kidnapping, one count of assault by pointing a gun, one count of assault on a female, one count of communicating threats and failure to appear in court on earlier charges.
New search warrants issued by authorities in Durham, N.C. show that alleged cult leader Peter Moses and Vania Sisk are “directly involved in the murder of a juvenile and an adult.”
Jadon Higganbothan, 6, and Antoinetta McKoy are both considered missing. Search warrants obtained Tuesday indicate authorities are treating the case as a missing persons and homicide investigation.
