Warren Jeffs resigns key position in FLDS faith

Polygamous sect leader Warren S. Jeffs issued a statement this afternoon saying he resigned two weeks ago as president of the business entity of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

The statement was sent to media Wednesday by Jeffs’ Salt Lake City attorneys, Walter F. Bugden and Tara Isaacson.

The letter states that Jeffs asked that the statement be released to media and members of the FLDS Church.

The brief statement said Jeffs resigned as “President of the Corporation of the President of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Inc. on November, 20, 2007.”
