Prosecutors say that Ronald Weinland, who preaches that the end of the world is near, lived a lavish lifestyle off donations of his followers and didn’t pay taxes on much of the money.

Weinland’s attorney says the government doesn’t understand the evangelist’s beliefs regarding the pending collapse of the U.S. financial system.
