Mathew Naidoo referred to himself as the ‘3rd Son of God’
The Lotters claimed Naidoo, who had told them he was the ‘Third Son of God,’ manipulated them into murdering their parents.
During the trial of Nicolette and Hardus Lotter, and her boyfriend, Matthew Naidoo, for the murder of the siblings’ parents a court in South Africa heard the motive for the double murder was to get a share of the inheritance.
Naidoo told his girlfriend and her brother how to kill her parents and that it was God’s will they should die, according to statements made to police.
A Durban man described by his co-accused as the “Son of God” had manipulated the Lotter siblings and was behind the planning of their parents’ double murder, the Pinetown Regional Court heard today.
Investigating officer Constable Kubendran Naidoo was outlining Mathew Naidoo‘s confession as well as those given by the siblings.
The confessions were being highlighted at Naidoo’s bail application where he stood in the dock with his girlfriend Nicolette Lotter and her brother Hardus.
On Sunday, police arrested her son and daughter.
Brother and sister Hardus and Nicolette Lotter, who made a brief court appearance on Wednesday charged with the murder of their parents, had been part of a religious sect and had been influenced by Nicolette’s boyfriend and co-accused, Mathew Naidoo, who had claimed he was “God’s messenger”, sources close to the investigation said on Wednesday.
