Former President Godfrey Binaisa introduces his Japanese bride to the public at his house on Muyenga hill today.
Security has been tightened for Binaisa and his sweetheart Yamamoto.
President Yoweri Museveni is among the guests at the exclusive ceremony set for the picturesque Speke Resort Munyonyo on the shores of Lake Victoria.
A police officer armed with an AK47 assault rifle told The New Vision team yesterday: “Sorry we have received new instructions not to let in anyone. We have strict orders to give guests a book to write down their names, telephone numbers and purposes of their visit. Then we take the book to the old man who will decide to either call you or not.”
“Besides you cannot see them now because they are resting. Why don’t you go to Munyonyo tomorrow at 4:00pm for the wedding reception?” the officer said.
Meanwhile, several workers were trimming the overgrown hedge while others were slashing, mowing and tending a bed of flowers.
Binaisa, who made news lately, is going to introduce his US-based Japanese wife to his guests after their marriage was solemnised by Rev. Sun Myung Moon, the controversial South Korean billionaire head of the Unification Church.
The couple linked up through satellite and wedded before meeting each other physically.
