(Vedic City, Iowa)–As KTVO first told you Tuesday night, a hotel in Vedic City in Jefferson County, Iowa has been designated as the capitol of a borderless, global country called “The Global Country of World Peace. The followers of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi say they’ve set it up to promote world peace. The federal government will likely not have a problem with the newly dedicated capital in vedic city. On Wednesday, an official with the Justice Department in Washington, DC told KTVO that since the global country isn’t recognized by the US government, officials are not breaking any laws, as long as the global country pays all the taxes it’s supposed to. Supporters say the global country won’t pose a threat to the sovereignty of the United States. The new government has its own currency and constitution, and it’s ruled by a king.
