A former member of a religious group in Shawano County was sentenced Wednesday morning for the sexual assault of a child.
A judge sentenced Gaeland Priebe to twelve years in prison. Priebe will be eligible for parole after three years.

Priebe entered a rarely-used Alford plea to the charge, meaning he maintains his innocence while admitting there is evidence of guilt.
Priebe said the religious group he was involved with is a cult, and he blamed pressure from the group for his actions.
