8 Ecleo cult members sued for illegal gun possession

CEBU CITY , Cebu, Philippines — Police filed charges on Monday against eight members of the Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association (PBMA) of cult leader Ruben Ecleo Jr. allegedly caught carrying high-powered firearms in a checkpoint on Friday.

The complaint of illegal possession of firearms was filed at the Lapulapu City Prosecutor’s Office in Mactan Island, Cebu.

They were Nestor Carrol, 34; Master Sergeant Hercleo Rallestan, 48; Arjulyn Tembrevilla Gallarda, 30; Richard Caballero, 31; Rosalito Oaper, 27; Michael Baylon, 29; Elpidio Amarila, 56; and his cousin Damiano, 37.

Carrol was reportedly a member of the close-in security of Surigao del Norte Representative Glenda Ecleo, mother of the PBMA “supreme master.”
