Discount for prayers at shopping mall church

Shoppers are being offered discounts for praying the loudest at a church inside a shopping mall in Chile.

Worshippers at the church in the shopping centre in Santiago also get a McDonalds voucher or a chocolate bar after confession.

The Parque Arauco mall has reported an increase in sales since the Catholic church opened, reports Las Ultimas Noticias.

Priests tell shoppers about the latest offers before mass, every Sunday, and worshippers can bring in their shopping bags.

Clothes shop Dockers sponsored the installation of a sound system that detects the loudest person in the church during prayers and rewards them with a discount in the shop.
