Police Charge Student With First-Degree Murder
FAIRFIELD, Iowa — A student at the Maharishi University in Fairfield is dead after a stabbing at the school’s dining hall.
Police were called to the university’s dining hall around 7 p.m. Monday.

They found Levi Butler, 19, bleeding from stab wounds to the chest. Butler was taken to a Jefferson County hospital where he later died.
Police arrested another student, Shuvender Sem (pictured, left), 24, and charged him with first-degree murder.
Police have not released a possible motive for the stabbing.
