(Milford-AP, Nov. 27, 2003 6:11 AM) _ Milford police have charged an 18-year-old alleged white supremacist with attacking a juvenile who refused to join his group.
Roy Watanabe of Milford was arraigned in Superior Court yesterday on charges of risk of injury to a minor, threatening, third-degree assault and breach of peace. He posted a 20-thousand dollar bond.
Police say Watanabe, a sophomore at Jonathan Law High School with no previous criminal record, shoved a 15-year-old boy to the ground and kicked him in the mouth Tuesday. They say the assault happened after the boy refused to join the White Wolves group.

The White Wolves have been linked to bias incidents in Stratford and Trumbull.
Watanabe’s mother says he is a good person and not a racist. She believes the incident resulted from a feud her son had with the victim and was not connected with the white supremacist group.
Stratford police department records list Watanabe as a member of the White Wolves.
He is due back in court on December 17th.
