Exorcism Mom Sentenced to 62 Years in Prison

Latisha Lawson, the Fort Wayne mother who admitted killing her three-year-old son in an attempt to rid him of demons, has been sentenced to 62 years in prison.

WANE reports

Lawson, 31, admitted to police she forced a mixture of oil and vinegar down Jeziah King’s throat and held his mouth shut until he stopped breathing.

In court documents, Lawson said she was trying to exorcise demons from the boy. That was in November 2009. She’s said to have wrapped him in a blanket and put his lifeless body in a closet for about a year. […]

Lawson was arrested in December 2010. Lawson was found guilty on all counts last month.

Natasha Hawkins, 31, is also accused of participating in the death of Jezaih King.  Hawkins was Lawson’s roommate and was there when King stopped breathing.  She is still waiting to stand trial.
