A Pennsylvania news station has obtained the unsealed grand jury report in the cases involving a former pastor and his deceased wives.
The document reveals important new details about how Arthur Schirmer‘s wives died. At first, police ruled both deaths accidental but information in the grand jury report led to both cases being reopened and murder charges being filed in one of them.
Schirmer was charged last week with murdering his second wife, Betty Jean, in Monroe County and staging it to look like a car crash. The grand jury report finds “blood evidence on the passenger seat indicates Betty Jean was bleeding prior to getting into the car.” She died from a fractured skull.
The report says Schirmer’s version of events do not match the crash scene.
