Chinese monk held for murder of priest and nun

Police have arrested a 43-year-old monk who confessed to the murder of a Catholic priest and a nun in northern China, saying he held a “grudge” against the pair, state media said Friday.

According to AFP the subject, Zhang Wenping, said he had been engaged in a romantic relationship with the nun but the priest persuaded her to call it off, prompting the killings, Xinhua said.
