Westboro files response in Supreme Court case

The Westboro Baptist Church‘ — a hate group that masquerades as a Christian church — has filed their response with the U.S. Supreme Court to a petition by Albert Snyder asking the court to restore a $5 million verdict against the Rev. Fred Phelps and members of his congregation.

The Supreme Court is considering whether vitriolic anti-gay protestors who picket the funerals of US soldiers are protected by free speech laws. As far as we know only Phelps and his cult members regularly demonstrate at military funerals (and other events), carrying inflammatory signs to draw attention to their anti-gay and anti-USA message.
