French Church wary of Virgin Mary sermons

The French Catholic Church said on Friday it had no proof the Virgin Mary had been speaking through a local woman known as Marie-Pierre at monthly sessions drawing large crowds of believers from across France and western Europe.

The sessions — called the Cenacles of the Messengers of Love — were suspended last December after the diocese based in nearby Nantes launched an inquiry and instructed its priests not to attend them.
