Holland’s Central Bank (“De Nederlandsche Bank”) will investigate the ‘Raam’ currency.

The currencty, issued by the spiritual movement of Maharishi Yogi is accepted by shops in and around Vlodop (Netherlands) where the guru resides.

The money has been in circulation since October last year. The bills of 1, 5 and 10 raam are printed by Joh. Enschedé, which also prints Eurobills. The raam is valued at €10

According to the Central Bank, anyone may print money and use it for bartering. However, it may not be promoted as lawful legal tender. It may also not resemble the Euro too closely.

The currency is also available in the U.S.
