ELDORADO, Texas — Texas state troopers have made a “minor” arrest connected to the search of an FLDS compound outside Eldorado.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Tom Vinger told The Salt Lake Tribune that the person arrested Monday was not Dale Barlow, the Arizona man accused of abuse by a 16-year-old girl at the ranch.
The arrest was “minor,” Vinger said, declining to elaborate.
Marleigh Meisner, a spokeswoman for the Texas Child Protective Service, said during a news conference this afternoon that someone was arrested for interfering with the duties of a public servant, a class B misdemeanor.
The girl’s report led authorities last week to raid the 1,691-acre ranch owned by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. More than 250 women and children have removed from the ranch since Thursday night.
