Court to hear motions in Mary Winkler custody case

Carroll County Chancellor Ron Harmon will hear motions in Mary Winkler‘s custody case beginning at 10 a.m. today in his court, according to a news release.

“These largely do with discovery and procedural matters, and most will be closed because they are related to the adoption case,” Sue Allison, a spokeswoman for the state Administrative Office of the Courts, said in the release.

Winkler was convicted early last year of voluntary manslaughter in the March 2006 shooting death of her minister husband, Matthew Winkler.

He’d been the pulpit preacher at Selmer’s Fourth Street Church of Christ.

Winkler is trying to get custody of their three young daughters from his parents, Dan and Diane Winkler of Huntingdon.
