The arrest of self-acclaimed white supremacist Matt Hale in Chicago on Wednesday has many people talking in central Illinois.

High ranking officials of the World Church of the creator call charges against their leader lies and say the future of the church is solid.

Hale was in Chicago for a hearing on a trademark infringement lawsuit regarding the church’s name when federal authorities arrested and charged him with soliciting the murder of the federal judge in the case, Joan Lefkow.

Rev. Jon Fox, the Illinois State Leader for the church was with Hale and was also detained and questioned by federal agents. He says the church is not violent and the FBI is using these charges as a fishing expedition. Fox says the FBI and the state’s attorney questioned him for four hours. He says he learned there is a church website that the church sponsored that made the threats. Fox says it is not one of their sites. Hale says he is innocent of the charges. If convicted he could face 30 years in prison.
