London, May 1 : It seems that one of the reasons why Posh is on such good terms with best pal Katie Holmes’ hubby Tom Cruise, is because she’s agreed to study Scientology.
Relations between the two celeb couples had reportedly thawed over Posh and Becks’ disinterest in learning about Cruise’s religion.
However, now that Posh has agreed to learn more about Scientology, it seems that she and Holmes are back to being thick as thieves, with Tom and Katie even agreeing in principle to appear in a 10 million pounds documentary chronicling the Brit couple’s move to the US.
One of Posh’s pals revealed that Cruise had made it clear that a “continued friendship” between the two couples would depend on how committed Posh and Becks are to Scientology.
“Victoria is agreeing to study more about Scientology – but at the moment David is less sure. Tom has basically been on to them both for a while now to show their commitment. The way Tom sees it is that he has shown them a great deal of commitment during their move to LA,” the Daily Mail quoted the pal, as saying.
“Tom has made it clear their continued friendship depends on a commitment to Scientology. Tom basically wants them to be ambassadors for Scientology in Europe and Japan, where David is obviously huge.
“Since Victoria is much more careerminded she agreed to her commitment right off the bat. David is a lot more circumspect. He feels it’s controlling, that he doesn’t really believe in it and that it would be a bit false of him to preach something he doesn’t believe in,” the pal added.
It seems that Posh has not only study the religion, but also attend meetings once she and husband David move to Los Angeles.
However, Posh and Becks’ spokesman has rubbished the reports, and insisted that the couple had not been approached by TomKat to convert to Scientology.
“They are not signing up and neither do they intend to do so,” the spokesman said,
Posh and Becks will be moving to the US shortly now that they have found their dream house in LA, for the soccer ace is due to start with American side LA Galaxy on July 1.
Becks’ contract with Spanish giants Real Madrid ends on June 31.
