A Danish man accused of having sex with and pimping his 10-year-old daughter to a slew of men went on trial in Denmark in a case that has shocked the Scandinavian country.
The case, Denmark’s highest-profile incest and pedophilia trial, has made headlines since the man’s arrest in August 2005.
The accused, 47, a member of a satanic cult, told police in December he repeatedly had sex with his daughter between February and August 2005, when the girl was aged 10 and 11.
Police arrested the man after receiving an anonymous tip.
Placing advertisements in papers and on the internet, the man is alleged to have invited men to his house in Toender, in southwestern Denmark, to pay to have sex with his daughter.
The man pleaded guilty in court.
Fourteen clients have already been convicted in recent months and sentenced to jail terms of up to six years for having sex with the girl.
Prosecutors have also charged the man with physically abusing his second daughter in 2003 and 2004 when she was six and seven.
The girls’ 43-year-old mother, a schizophrenic, was sentenced in December to a secure psychiatric hospital for an undetermined period for complicity to incest.
If convicted the man faces a maximum 18 years in jail.
