Actress Keri Russell has jumped off buildings with Tom Cruise but will never follow him into scientology, she reveals in Vanity Fair magazine.
The 30-year-old stars with Cruise in the film Mission: Impossible III but laughed off rumours he was urging her to join the religious organisation.
Russell, who is Jewish, said it was ‘nonsense’ in an exclusive interview with the magazine, out this month.
She said: ‘I had all my Jewish grandmothers calling, going, “Is Keri a Scientologist? Do we have to be worried?”.
I was like, I’m never going to live it down.’
Russell, who plays an agent in MI:3 but found fame in the US show Felicity, said the journalist who wrote the article was threatened with legal action by her manager who told him: ‘I am going to sue your ass!’
Cruise found himself bossed around by TV chef Jamie Oliver on the Late Night Show with David Letterman. Without letting 43-year-old Cruise, father of baby girl Suri, take off his suit jacket, he ordered him to help cook a special recipe.
