Interior Ministry: Reverend Moon Not Allowed to Enter Bulgaria

Sofia – Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry was informed of a planned meeting of the followers of the Moon Unification Church on October 27th in Sheraton Hotel, the press office of the Interior Ministry reported.

The program included a speech by Sun Myung Moon, a Korean citizen and leader of the religious community followed by a lottery and a cocktail.

In connection to the country’s complicated situation after the murder of the Bulgarian banker Emil Kyulev, a meeting between representatives of the Interior Ministry and leaders of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification Radomir Stanchev and Boyan Bashiyanov was held.

A foreign citizen and member of the Moon Unification Church attended the meeting. Representatives of the community stated during the meeting that Sun Myung Moon’s presence in Bulgaria was rather undesirable.

Moon has been banned from entering Bulgarian territory according to the Bill on foreigners in Bulgaria.
