Gilbert Deya’s wife released on Bond

Mrs Mary Deya who was last month charged with the theft of a baby boy whom she claimed to have given birth to has been released on bond by a Kibera court.

Senior Principal magistrate, Catherine Mwangi ordered the release of Mrs Deya on a bond of 300-thousand shillings with one surety of a similar amount.

Mrs Deya, wife to London-based controversial evangelist, Gilbert Deya had been in custody since the 11th of last month when she was arrested at Kenyatta National Hospital where she had gone carrying a baby boy.

She claimed to have given birth on her way to hospital, a theory doctors at the hospital disputed.

Police last week announced a reward of 100-thousand shillings to anyone with information about the mother of the baby.
