Search called off for teenager in Toronto

A search in Toronto for a 14 year old cancer patient from British Columbia, has been called off. The teenager and her family may be trying avoid the teen from undergoing a blood transfusion, because their religion does not allow it.

Lawyers for the family are looking to have the case heard in Ontario court, after a ruling by a court British Columbia went against the family’s wishes to refuse a blood transfusion because they are Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The hearing in a Toronto court has been scheduled for Tuesday.
