Twenty three members of the religious organization “Jehovah’s Witnesses” are
imprisoned for avoiding military service for religious reasons in Armenia,
say the data provided to Arminfo by this religious organization.
The young people are imprisoned for avoiding the regular call-up (Article 75
of the Criminal Code, 1-5 years of imprisonment), and for desertion (Article
255 (a), 3-7 years of imprisonment).
