Cultists in Japan put on wanted list

TOKYO — Police put a member of the Aum Shinri Kyo doomsday cult on a nationwide wanted list yesterday in connection with a letter-bomb attack that maimed an aide to the governor of Tokyo on May 16.

The bomb was addressed to Gov. Yukio Aoshima, who supported disbanding the cult after a deadly nerve gas attack in Tokyo’s subways on March 20. The cult’s top leaders have been charged with murder in the attacks.
