Muslim Group Vows to Disrupt Miss World Contest

National Council of Muslim Youth (NACOMYO) has vowed to disrupt the forthcoming Miss World contest taking place in Abuja in November this year.

NACOMYO, in a release signed by its National President, Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni, condemned “in strong terms the proposed hosting of the Miss World competition in Nigeria by federal government agencies.

“We cannot fathom what benefit would acrue to the nation, in a show in which nakedness of women is exhibited with absolute necklessness and all sorts of immoralities come in its wake.”

NACOMYO lamented that Nigeria “has been stigmatised as being the largest exporter of prostitutes to Italy and other parts of Europe.”
