Hate Groups:
Five members or associates of an alleged neo-Nazi, white supremacist group known as the Connecticut White Wolves have been indicted by a federal grand jury, accused of conspiring to sell guns and homemade hand grenades to what they thought was a similar group out of state. The Anti-Defamation League says that in recent years, the White Wolves have become a potentially dangerous group.

American neo-Nazis are using deceptive free music downloads to lure youth and college students into anti-Semitism, according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of the B’Nai Brith organization. It said the new tactics specifically target high school and college students through advertisements in school newspapers. Israel’s Arutz Sheva reports that a man who operates a racist web site tricked school papers “by changing his site when he placed ads offering music by independent artists, but after the ads were published, he returned the site to its usual white supremacist format.”

John Harris of the Holland Township Police Department told FOXNews.com.New Jersey officials said Wednesday that it is not just a matter of names. “DYFS would never remove a child simply based on that child’s name,” Bernyk said.

The mayor of a small town in eastern Germany has gone into hiding after a threat on his life appeared on a far-right Web site. The case follows the knife attack by a suspected neo-Nazi this month, generating fears that the far-right scene is becoming more violent. Recent figures show that the number of far-right crimes committed in the first 10 months of 2008 exceeded the total for the whole of last year.

German police have arrested two suspects over the stabbing of a German police chief and are investigating several other people active in the neo-Nazi scene, prosecutors said on Monday. Alois Mannichl, 52, police chief in the southern city of Passau, was seriously injured when he was stabbed in front of his home on Saturday. Police said the attacker made threats with language used by far-right supporters.

A jury awarded $2.5 million in damages on Friday to a Kentucky teenager who was severely beaten by members of a Ku Klux Klan group because they mistakenly thought he was an illegal Latino immigrant, the Southern Poverty Law Center said.The verdict included $1.5 million in compensatory damages and $1 million in punitive damages against “Imperial Wizard” Ron Edwards.
The law center said before the verdict that a large damage award could break the Klan group, allowing the teen and the law center to seize the group’s assets, including its headquarters, a 15-acre compound in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. [video]
