Ganas:
The Ganas commune was formed three decades ago on the principles of sharing resources and talking out problems. But one of its founders contends the group isn’t abiding by those rules.
Jeffrey Gross has sued the New Brighton commune and 14 current and former members, alleging they booted him out last year and won’t give him his fair share of the group’s assets.

Ganas:
Today the leader of a Staten Island commune announced he has filed a $20 million civil suit against the woman he claims shot him six times at point blank range. Jeff Gross made the announcement during a press conference outside state Supreme Court in St. George this morning, two months after a jury found 45-year-old former Ganas member Rebekah Johnson not guilty of counts of second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and attempted grand larceny in the second degree.

A disgruntled former Staten Island commune member was cleared of all charges in the shooting of the group’s founder, who had insisted in court that she was his attacker. Still, the jury took less than five hours to find Rebekah Johnson not guilty of pumping six bullets into Ganas commune guru Jeff Gross as he walked home two years ago.
