Hate GroupsIslamRNB's Religion News Blog:
The rehabilitation of terrorist sympathizer Cat Stevens has now hit the mainstream.

What we’re seeing is something akin to the Cold War-era phenomenon of anti-anti-Communism. The anti-anti-Communist left, comprising large sections of the press, academy, and even federal bureaucracies, was simply incapable of understanding that the defense of American civil liberties did not depend on the uncritical defense of the rights of Communists.

Call this latest manifestation of liberal illogic anti-anti-Islamism. [Read up on Islamism]

IslamNetherlandsRNB's Religion News BlogSchools and Religion:
Retired Dutch politician Frits Bolkestein says the poor quality of Muslim-operated Islamic schools in the Netherlands distance Muslims further from Dutch society.

He fears this may result in ethnic segregation, creating areas in the Netherlands where Shariah is the rule of law.

Bolkestein warns against Islamic schools “where boys and girls are segregated, where Holocaust history is not taught, where anti-Semitism is not combated, and where the curriculum militates against the emancipation of women.”

“There is something rotten at work within Islam, and whether it takes five years, five hundred, or five thousand, that rottenness (regardless of its relationship to “true Islam”) must be resisted and defeated.” – David French

IslamPakistanReligious Persecution:
Asia Bibi Asia Bibi, a 45-year-old mother-of-five, denies blasphemy and told investigators that she was being persecuted for her faith in a country where Christians face routine harassment and discrimination.

Christian groups and human rights campaigners condemned the verdict and called for the blasphemy laws to be repealed.

Sharia -- Islamic extremism codified A federal judge blocked Oklahoma officials Monday from implementing a voter-approved referendum that singles out Islamic religious law, or Shariah, as a threat to the state.

Chief Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange, of U.S. District Court in Oklahoma City, set a Nov. 22 hearing to consider whether the Save Our State Amendment violates the U.S. Constitution. Until then, she issued a temporary restraining order preventing the state Election Board from certifying State Question 755, which passed by 70% on Nov. 2.

Hate GroupsIslamTerrorism:
Muslim terrorism The wife of a German convert to Islam who was convicted of plotting a thwarted attack on U.S. targets in Germany went on trial herself Friday on charges of supporting terrorist organizations.

Filiz Gelowicz, 28, is accused of supporting the Islamic Jihad Union and the German Taliban Mujahideen by helping provide euro3,000 ($4,225) to fund terrorist training camps in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region between 2009 and 2010. She faces up to five years in prison.

Hate GroupsIslam:
Muslim hate criminals A website which influenced a young Muslim to stab an MP has posted dozens more MPs’ names on a ‘death list’ with an exhortation to Muslims to follow her example.

It published a list of all the MPs who voted for the Iraq war together with an instruction to Muslims to try to kill them, saying: “We ask Allaah for her action to inspire Muslims to raise the knife of Jihaad against those who voted for the countless rapes, murders, pillages, and torture of Muslim civilians as a direct consequence of their vote.”

Hate GroupsIslamRNB's Religion News Blog:
Responding to complaints from American and British officials, YouTube on Wednesday removed from its site some of the hundreds of videos featuring calls to jihad by Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born cleric based in Yemen who has been blamed for radicalizing Muslims involved in a string of terrorist attacks.

On Tuesday, amid concerns that the cleric might have been linked to a thwarted plot to bomb cargo jets, prosecutors in Yemen charged Mr. Awlaki in absentia with inciting violence by sending Internet messages to a 19-year-old Yemeni man, who is on trial for murdering a French oil company worker last month, urging him to kill foreigners.

Hate GroupsIslamReligious PersecutionRNB's Religion News Blog:
With al-Qaeda declaring war on Christians in Iraq and no end to political instability in sight, Catholic experts on the Middle East fear the fate of the minority Christian community there will only worsen.

The pessimism followed the bloodiest attack against Iraq’s Christian minority since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion. Fifty-two hostages and police were killed on Sunday when security forces stormed a church that had been raided by al-Qaeda-linked gunmen.

The bloodbath struck fear deep into the hearts of remaining Iraqi Christians and confirmed some of the worst concerns of a Vatican summit on the Middle East held last month that warned of a continuing exodus of Christians from the lands of the Bible.

A decade after wars redesigned the political map of the Balkans, there is mounting concern over the growing influence of radical Islam in the region.

From Bosnia to Kosovo, large amounts of money have poured in from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states and missionaries of Wahhabi Islam are targeting young populations mired in poverty, unemployment and corruption.

Hate GroupsIslamRNB's Religion News Blog:
A jury Monday found four men guilty of plotting to blow up Jewish targets in New York City and shoot military planes out of the sky, brushing aside defense claims that they were victims of entrapment by a paid FBI informant who befriended them at their mosque.

The four — alleged ringleader James Cromitie, David Williams IV, Onta Williams and Laguerre Payen — were arrested in a nighttime raid in May 2009 after leaving cars they believed were laden with explosives outside a synagogue and a Jewish center in the Bronx.

Prosecutors called it a “chilling plot” and an example of the danger of home-grown terrorists. Defenders of the four, all Muslims from the working-class city of Newburgh, north of New York City, said they would not have been involved in a plot were it not for pressure put on them by the Pakistani-born informant.

Hate GroupsIslamRNB's Religion News BlogTerrorism:
The Taliban — a hate group consisting of despicable barbarians who have deluded themselves into thinking they represent true Islam — have warned of a possible terrorist attack against the Netherlands, according to a press report Monday, in the wake of the government’s decision to form a minority government backed by the anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders.

‘If the Netherlands enforce its anti-Islamic policies, it will ensure that they will be the target of an attack by a jihadist group,’ Taliban spokesman Sabiullah Mujahid told the de Volkskrant newspaper.
