A Wisconsin appeals court has upheld a liquor law violation against an official of a Shawano hotel owned by the Samanta Roy Institute of Science & Technology - and fined its attorney $200 as well.

R C Samanta Roy No charges will be filed in a bizarre happening at the home of a suspected religious cult leader that left an 18-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries, Baltimore County police said Tuesday.

Police have concluded that Carmella Goldstein was hurt when a slab of granite fell on top of her, according to a police report obtained by The Associated Press. She suffered a punctured lung and a broken leg, pelvis and ribs, and traumatic injuries to an eye and her genital area, according to the report.

R C Samanta Roy An 18-year-old woman suffered numerous injuries at a suburban Baltimore home owned by the founder of an organization that’s been described as a religious cult, but the woman and her associates have not been forthcoming about what happened, police said Thursday.

“The victim and the other persons involved in this case haven’t been very cooperative because they’re anti-government,” a police spokesman said.

R C Samanta Roy Baltimore County police were searching for at least one suspect in the assault on an 18-year-old woman that led to a barricade Wednesday around a Pikesville house owned by a suspected religious cult leader.

Police said Avraham Cohen is not a part of the investigation into the incident, and he was not believed to be at the residence at the time of the assault, but the victim might have been part of the organization.

R C Samanta Roy The home is owned by Avraham Cohen, the President of the Samanta Roy Institute of Science and Technology. Police say they do not believe Cohen is directly involved, but other members of his group may be.

The raid came after a young woman was assaulted inside the home. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, including internal injuries.

Rama Behera A small town in Wisconsin is rattled by a supposed hit list allegedly sent by someone associated with a secretive group SIST.

For 30-plus years the group has been led by a man once named Rama Behera, now called Dr. Avraham Cohen.

The group says it’s an educational non-profit, but over the years news reports, public records and former members have characterized it as a religious cult, a charge a lawyer for the group strongly denied. [video]

Rama Behera The Samanta Roy Institute of Science and Technology this month became more than a curiosity when Shawano residents learned that a member of the group is suspected of putting together a written threat against 60 people in the community. A Canadian businessman who has financial dealings with the group provided the list and has turned police informant.

The threats implied that the group wanted people causing them problems “taken care of,” Shawano police Chief Ed Whealon said.

booked The executive of a religious sect that’s accused of orchestrating threats against Shawano, Wisconsin, officials has been picked up by the U.S. Marshals Service for extradition to Maryland on an unrelated contempt of court warrant.

Authorities in Shawano and the FBI said her arrest had nothing to do with the Shawano threats case.

RC Samanta Roy Members of a religious sect based in nearby Wescott generated a list of elected officials, residents and members of the media they wanted “taken care of,” authorities said Friday.

A Canadian citizen — a former business associate of the sect, Samanta Roy Institute for Science and Technology — contacted authorities on Oct. 30 with information about the threats and received the list from sect members on Nov. 3, Whealon said.
