Interfaith: BRUSSELS - A few minutes before Europe observed three minutes of silence last Wednesday in memory of the tsunami victims, Jewish and Muslim clergy who had convened at Egmont Palace decided to join them. Two days earlier, the clergy had come together to seek means of greater involvement for religion in quietening the bloody Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Interfaith: Thousands gathered in the historic Mormon Tabernacle on November 14, 2004 to hear Dr. Ravi Zacharias, the world renowned defender of the Christian faith, speak on Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life. However, the powerful talk by Dr. Zacharias has been virtually lost in the shuffle due to remarks made prior to his taking the pulpit. Dr. Richard Mouw, president of Fuller Seminary in California was asked to give a few words and in doing so made 'an apology' that also contained several accusations against the evangelical community.

Not once did Rob Davis think about breaking his commitment to his Muslim constituents. Despite his long workdays, the San Jose police chief never even had a drop of water during the daylight-hours fasts for the holy month of Ramadan, which ends today. Not even on a day that Davis started in Washington, D.C. -- when he began to abstain from food and drink before sunrise at 5:30 a.m., or 2:30 a.m. California time -- and ended well into the evening with meetings in San Jose. His mouth turned cottony as he became dehydrated, but the meetings prevented him from ending his fast until 7:30 p.m.
