Aryans Will Not March In Coeur d’Alene This Year
Associated Press, May 14, 2003
COEUR D’ALENE - The Aryan Nations won’t march in Coeur d’Alene next month because a merchants’ event and a fun run reserved the streets first.
The white supremacist group had hoped to have a parade that coincided with the Aryan Nations World Congress June 20th in Farragut State Park. But the group applied for a date that was already taken.
The permits to use the streets are given on a first-come, first-served basis.
Aryan Nations founder Richard Butler says not having the parade will have no effect on the World Congress.
Local residents had thought the Aryan Nations was defunct. The organization bankrupted in 2000 and lost its compound.
