Abuse Case Preacher Must Pay £45,000 Trial Costs
Jailed millionaire preacher Pastor Douglas Goodman was today ordered to pay £45,000 towards the cost of his trial.
Goodman, 47, was jailed for three and a half years at the Old Bailey in May for sexually assaulting loyal followers.
The trial, at which he was also cleared of raping a member of the congregation, followed an earlier trial at which the jury could not agree.
A Charity Commission report later revealed that his Victory Christian Centre evangelical church in London had gone from having an income of £3.5 million to being in debt through misconduct and mismanagement.
The charismatic preacher and his wife lived a life of luxury, owning a £1.5 million house in Northampton, driving sports cars and taking holidays to exotic destinations.
The Charity Commission closed down the church in Kilburn, north London, in December 2002.
