Sandra’s Advice
Has the Evil Eye been troubling you? Having trouble with your Body Thetans recently? Or are you finally approaching a state of Clear!
If you don’t know what I’m talking about you’re not following the Hollywood craze for Scientology or Madonna’s favourite, Kabbalah.
The Kabbalah is part of the mystical Jewish tradition, dating back at least nine centuries.
Its sacred text the Zohar, or Book Of Splendour, is believed to explain the deepest mysteries of existence.
The version of Kabbalah attracting increasing numbers of Hollywood A-list celebrities was started by a 75-year-old former insurance salesman Fievel Gruberger who changed his name to Philip Berg, reinvented himself and now has assets of more than $20million.
Rabbi Bergs pop-version is now headed by his son, Yehuda Berg, and bears little resemblance to the ancient Kabbalah.
It includes “speed meditations”, and astro-logy and numerology in books and lectures with titles like Making Love Last and Overcoming Our Hidden Addictions.
It is fast overtaking Scientology as Hollywood’s latest ‘fringe’ spirituality cult.
Madonna and her film director husband Guy Ritchie are just two of the famous celebs who’ve adopted the sect’s trade-mark red wool bracelet, which is believed to ward off the evil eye.
The thread is believed to radiate energy from contact with the groups spiritual mother Rachel’s burial stone in the Holy Land.
Other famous devotees include Britney Spears, Barbra Streisand, Mick Jagger, Jeff Goldblum, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Naomi Campbell, Roseanne Barr and Elizabeth Taylor.
With the recent opening of its London centre there are now 50 centres world-wide, selling a wide range of products including “Kabbalah water”.
Apparently if you drink it all the time you will “never feel ill again” and “it has a complex structure like no other water. It actually changes your cells”.
Madonna sends for her supplies from London when working in Europe.
Their most essential “Spiritual Tool” is The Red String. The packaging promises protection from: “Bitter boyfriends, nasty cab- driver, dirty looks, big fat liars, that person who wants your shoes, that person who wants your life, jealous co-workers, that so- called friend, rude waiters . . .”
Victoria and David Beckham have also been spotted recently wearing the trademark red bracelet, David’s plainly visible on his wrist as he held his head in his hands after missing a penalty.
Being wealthy helps as the self-development courses associated with the Kabbalah are extremely expensive.
Berg promises that a lifetime of Kabbalah study will eventually make you privy to the deepest secrets of the universe.
Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to help score goals.
