Police in Nairobi have arrested eight people in connection with the killing of a primary school girl in Mlango Kubwa estate.
The suspects, who are being held in different police stations within Kasarani division, are assisting the officers with information that could lead to the arrest of Evelyn Mumbua’s killers. Mumbua was slashed to death on Monday night.
The officers have extended their investigations into the public transport sector, where the sect members are believed to be masquerading as touts.
“We suspect some of them are wearing the uniforms to confuse people that they are conductors,” Kasarani division officer in-charge of operations, Mr Masai Kyeleve said. Kyeleve said calm had returned to the area and that police patrols had been increased.
He said police officers in the city have also impounded more than 100 PSVs playing loud music and those with no seat belts or tampered speed governors.
