Ex-members were cursed

TAUNTON — The Attleboro religious sect not only shunned the outside world as Satan’s realm, but prayed for curses on sect members who left the insular group, according to testimony at Karen Robidoux‘s murder trial Thursday.

”We were basically praying to God to hand them over to Satan for the destruction of their flesh,” former sect member Renee Horton recalled about a sect meeting when members Dennis Mingo and Richard and Nicole Kidson left the group in November 1998.

Despite the bizarre beliefs of the group, several former members — including Mingo, Kidson and Renee and Daniel Horton — testified they believed they were among God’s chosen people before they left.
