STERLING– A preliminary parole revocation hearing was held yesterday for the state leader of a white supremacist group, and a decision on the case is expected by Tuesday.
The Rev. Tony J. Menear, 26, of Sterling, had his parole revoked on July 8. He was out on parole after serving time in prison for armed robbery, he has said.
Rev. Menear is Massachusetts’ state leader for the World Church of the Creator, a white supremacist group based in Illinois. The church claims that Rev. Menear’s parole was revoked because he would not forsake his religion.
The state Parole Board has not commented on why Rev. Menear’s parole was revoked.
