Former Aum member arrested
More articles on this topic: Aum ShinrikyoTOKYO — A former senior member of the Aum Shinrikyo cult and two others were arrested Monday for allegedly fabricating a letter of commission to obtain a copy of a man’s family register in May 2001, police said.
Investigators will interrogate the former senior member, Yukio Ishitani, also believing he has recently contacted current senior members of the cult, which renamed itself Aleph in 2001, to persuade them not to take any extreme actions, police sources said.
