Remember These Stories?
Some radio-related sites:
One of my favorite secular on-line radio stations is California-based Radio Paradise. The station, which plays ”eclectic intelligent rock,” is still going strong, despite the threat of money-hungry (and decidedly short-sighted) music industry moguls.
Christian Pirate Radio (yep, that’s their name) also keeps getting better, with several music channels to choose from. I also regularly tune into KSBJ.org
Meanwhile, the BBC is launching a black music station this August. If you’re lucky enough to have a high-speed internet connection, join me and countless others in listening to all of the Beeb’s fine online radio offerings.
My country, which the U.S. government is threathening to attack should American soldiers ever stand trial at the new, International Court in The Hague, is home to one of the world’s most popular shortwave radio stations: Radio Netherlands. Pretty good news site, too.
Other observations:
Speaking of the U.S., you folks over there may want to keep an eye on the meter readers, mailmen, and other civil servants. Not just the walls have ears, you know… More on that issue.
And you can not trust your emails, either. For example, were you recently contacted by a Nigerian widow (ex-general, business man, politician or whatever)? I shouldn’t have to tell you this, but their stories – which get crazier by the day – are too stupid to be true. See also WIRED’s ”Meet the Nigerian E-Mail Grifters.”
The Good Book:
Have you ever read the Bible? Some folks claim that collection of books is full of contradictions. Hah!
