Three men in chief Chibwika’s area in Mwinilunga district have killed a 75 year-old woman on suspicion that she was a witch.

Police acting spokesperson Bonnie Kapeso yesterday said the incidence happened last Sunday around 09:00 hours in Kawato village.

He said Hanna Nachipa of Samuhetu village was murdered by Richard Chitembula 48, of Peula village, Victor Masiyi, 29, of Munyinda village and Richard Kaulali, 30 of the same village.

Kapeso said no arrest has been made and that the body of the deceased was lying in the Mwinilunga district hospital’s mortuary.

And in Monze, a 41-year-old man was on Tuesday murdered by unknown people.

Kapeso said between 23:00 hours on the night of February 18 and 05:00 hours on February 19, police received a report from Ackim Kazembe of Freedom Compound that his brother Charles had been killed by unknown people.

The deceased sustained a deep cut on the head and a sharp instrument is suspected to have been used.
