Muslim cleric Abu Hamza says he may defy a ban on his sermons at a mosque.
The controversial cleric claims he is being victimised after the Charity Commission banned him from speaking at the Finsbury Park Mosque, in north London.
Mr Hamza claims to hold the position of religious leader and says he will ask the worshippers who they want to give sermons.
He said: “The Charity Commission can hijack the mosque, the place of the message, but they can’t hijack the messenger.
“It is another example of the oppression against Islam.
“I will go in and ask the worshippers when the mosque opens who they want to hear speak. I will ask the people who come to pray.”
Mr Hamza says he has widespread support from hundreds of worshippers at the mosque.
He was removed under the Charity Commission’s powers as the body which runs the mosque, the North London Central Mosque Trust, is a registered charity.
The cleric was accused of abusing his position to preach his radical brand of Islam and make inflammatory sermons.
