ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Israel’s Ministry of Tourism has honored evangelist Benny Hinn for leading Christian tours to Israel despite last year’s Lebanon conflict.

At the Israel Tourism Breakfast for Christian broadcasters meeting in Orlando, Florida, Benny Hinn said God blesses those who bless the Jewish nation.

Hinn grew up in Israel, but said that until he became a Christian, he “didn’t know the God of Israel.”

With Israeli officials at the head table, Benny Hinn prayed in the name of Jesus that “the nation of Israel will see their Messiah.”

Israel’s tourism minister said evangelical Christians are some of his country’s best friends.
