Tom Shelat, owner of a hotel on the east side of Columbus, says he’s negotiating with Jenkins to purchase the Healing Waters complex. In return, he would lease space at the hotel to Jenkins for his Sunday services.
Through the years, Jenkins has faced a series of legal problems, most recently when he married Eloise Thomas, a 76-year-old widow and longtime member of his church.
The marriage was annulled in August 2001 after Thomas, who with her late husband had won six-point-nine (m) million dollars in the Ohio Lottery, was declared incompetent.
