Rev Emeka King latest: Victim reacts
In year 2001, Emeka Ezeugo, alias Pastor or Rev. Dr. King started his church at the back of Caprisonne, in Ajao Estate in Lagos, Nigeria, few yards to the canal that took the lives of thousands of Lagosians some years back. His church was directly around Inno Nwosu street where I was resident.
I was among the first believers he told God was going to use to bless his church. I reluctantly went there the very week this guy started as a friend to lend a hand. I stormed out of his church as soon as I saw the atrocities going on there. I personally entered that church one day to drag my senior sister away from that church.
I told my sister I saw a situation where sheepishly Emeka would poison members of his flock like late Pastor Jones did in America. The guy was slapping and kicking his members at the slightest provocation. Sometimes, he claimed be was directed by the spirits. Emeka who was not married could sleep with your wife, claiming he was directed by the Spirits. He could tell you to sell everything you have because he was directed by the Spirit.
Money was not a problem for Emeka because as neighbours started complaining of noise he was able to raise millions of naira to acquire a land in a desolate and sleepy area facing the canal. The Igbo traders in Idumota, Jankara, Alaba, Toyota markets are his back-bone. He sees vision for them. Emeka indeed took over from another popular pastor (names withheld) in whose church I once served as-an organist and Music director in the 80’s. These men see or hear nothing from God. It was all a stage-managed affair. Just like what the native doctors used to do with our fore-fathers those days.
What actually made me storm out of his church one day was when the guy showed the evil in him when over two hundred members were kept in the scorching sun for hours without a place to sit down, after some hours, the church executives reluctantly provided them with chairs. Members started scrambling to grab chairs to listen to their ‘man of miracle’. What followed shocked the hell out of me.
Emeka wanted to show everybody that he was in charge, he got so infuriated that he refused to continue with the service. His faithfuls knelt down and started begging this boy and calling him ‘daddy’. All their pleas that this evil man continue with the service failed to yield any result. The next thing this their ‘daddy’ did was to pick up koboko (horse whip) and started flogging helpless members who had come to receive miracles.
His self appointed Holiness, Dr, Rev. King was in early 30s when he said he got a message from God to start his ministry. Emeka has no experience or biblical training to interpret the word of God. It was all brute force, stage management, deceits and lies. Poor souls, you dare not tell them that their daddy is fake.
In their midst, you have dozens of women who have been married for years without a child. You have dozens of youths looking for jobs. You have families who do not know where their next meal will come from. They were beaten over and over and yet these men, women and children refused to leave this ‘man of God’.
Emeka made it mandatory for his members to attend vigils everyday. Many lost their jobs as a result of this.
If you make a mistake of not attending his vigil, you are in trouble. I read that this man has been arrested after so many years of committing atrocities, I am using this medium to plead that he faces the full wrath of the law. Emeka did not start this mans’ inhumanity to man today. The guy had been there surrounded by a bunch of hypocrites and illiterates, the man has wrecked so many homes.
I wonder why God will not rain stones from above on these men who have fooled and deceived men and women who helplessly come to them to seek Him and end up getting the opposite.
Most of these so called men of God have cashed on the poverty in the land to act like tin gods.
Emeka as I fondly call him, should face the full wrath of the law. I am using this opportunity to call on the Inspector General of Police to take over this case personally.
Men like Emeka, should be kept out of the streets. All these years I thought Emeka had been jailed and put away for good. I thought all these years the long arm of the law had caught up with him. Members of the police in Ajao estate know that this Emeka is evil parading himself as a man of God.
The Inspector general of Police should set up a public hearing to unveil the atrocities Emeka has committed over the years in the name of God. There are thousands of others who parade themselves as Pastors but are demons. The government should look into the activities of some of these so called ‘men of God’ now.
