PFN Denies Church on Burnt Members
The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has distanced itself from the General Overseer of Christian Praying Assembly Church, Lagos, whose Owner, Dr. King Emeka allegedly roasted eight members alive as not their member.
Fielding questions in Port Harcourt yesterday, PFN National President, Reverend Ayo Oritsejafor said Emeka was not known to the Fellowship and therefore should not be associated with them.
He dismissed the church as not being a church but an organisation impersonating Christians, pointing out that the modes of operation of the church did not fit into the modus operandi of Christian faith.
On the burning of the members, Oritsejafor said it was the height of wickedness, adding that it was wrong to associate his action with Christianity since anybody could claim to be anything he liked.
Asked if the PFN would support closing down the church, he replied that it was the duty of the police to do so as neither the church nor the PFN which had no relationship with Emeka and his church could do so.
“It is not a church, their ways does not conform to our ways, he was not registered with PFN and therefore not a member. Infact, it is the most wicked thing to do, kill or burn people that come to church”, he stated.
He insisted that everything he was doing was different from what we do so you cannot call him a christian or a church, adding, ” we don’t know where he is coming from”.
Reports have it that Emeka, the General Overseer of the church allegedly locked the church, doused fuel on it and set it ablaze with members inside which led to the roasting alive of eight of them in Lagos.
