The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), the umbrella body of all Pentecostal churches in the country says Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeagu King, General Overseer of Christian Praying Assembly, Ajao Estate, Lagos is not its member. The National Secretary of the group, Bishop Joseph Ojo, who disowned King in an interview with

EFE EBELO also described King’s church as a demonic enclave. He said no member of PFN would indulge in the acts that King is being accused of.

Is Rev. Emeka King of Christian Praying Assembly a member of PFN?

We do not know him as our member. It is not all Pentecostal churches that are members of PFN. Membership of the body is not by compulsion. These churches claim they are autonomous bodies and there is no way we can force them to join the PFN unless they decide to do so out of their volition. The PFN comprises of Bible believing churches that profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Any church that professes otherwise cannot be our member. The place is a demonic enclave and not a church. He is not a member of PFN. That place is not a church. It is a demonic enclave. The things they did there are not of God, the Bible does not support such acts. The Bible is very clear on how we need to serve God and that is through Jesus Christ.

What are your comments on events that have occurred in that church in the last few days?

What has happened there is barbaric, satanic, and demonic. It is a true picture of what people who are looking for unqualified miracle can get. Many Nigerians do not care where they go to get miracles; they desire miracles by every means possible. They do not care what is involved; all they care about is getting miracles. What happened in that place is what can happen to such people. When Jesus is not the source of power, when he is not the one being preached, then anything can happen. These people that patronize such places know that what is being preached there is not the gospel of Christ, but they are not bothered provided their problems are being solved temporarily. What has happened is the end result of such people. People should run away from places like that. God is the only one that can solve problems; no human being has the power to. Anyone that claims he has the power to solve problems is deceiving himself and telling lies. The man is not a servant of God, but a servant of the devil. What he has done is condemnable, and if it is ascertained that he actually did them, then he should be made to face the consequences. What he has done is very unfortunate, that is not how the gospel is supposed to be preached. We need to preach the gospel according to how we have been taught in the Bible.

Does the PFN have regulations that guide it in punishing erring members?

He is not our member and we can only have regulations concerning our own members and he is not even a member of the body of CAN, which comprises of five blocks. Go and check with CAN, which is the umbrella body of all churches in Nigeria and you will find out that he is not a member of CAN. If he is not a member of CAN he is not a church. Everybody has right to claim what he likes; he can say he is what he is not. It is only our members that we can apply disciplinary actions on in such cases, but for somebody who is not our member, we can do little or nothing in such a situation. But I can assure you that no member of PFN would be found doing what Kings is being accused of.

If he were to be your member, what would the PFN have done in such a situation?

If he were to be our member, he would not do a thing like that. We are disciplined, and none of the PFN members would do a thing like that. But if any member of PFN goes against the tenets of the organization, there are appropriate disciplinary channels to be followed to ensure that such does not repeat itself. But I can assure you that our members will not go to the extent that King has gone. We are very responsible people and we work according to the dictates of the Bible.
